This policy describes how Syndicate Content, LLC and its affiliated companies Monarch and Treason (together, "Syndicate," "we," or "us") collect and use information in connection with our internal bookkeeping application, "Ledger," and its associated services. Ledger is an internal tool operated by and for our own businesses. It is not offered to the public.
Financial account data. Ledger connects to our own business bank accounts through Plaid Inc. ("Plaid") to retrieve account balances and transaction history. By connecting an account, we grant Plaid permission to access that account's information. Plaid's handling of this data is governed by the Plaid End User Privacy Policy. We retrieve this data only for accounts we own.
Receipt images and text messages. When a receipt photo is sent by SMS/MMS to our Ledger phone number, we store the image and the sender's phone number in order to match the receipt to a business transaction.
Invoice and vendor records. We store names, email addresses, and payment details of customers and vendors as needed to issue invoices, record payments, and meet tax reporting obligations (for example, IRS Form 1099).
We use the information above solely to keep our own books: categorizing transactions, reconciling bank balances, attaching receipts to expenses, invoicing customers, paying vendors, and preparing financial and tax reports. We do not use it for advertising or sell it to anyone.
Our Ledger phone number sends automated confirmation messages in reply to receipt photos texted to it. A person opts in by sending a message to that number; we never send a message that was not preceded by an inbound message from the recipient.

We share information only with service providers that help us operate Ledger: Plaid (bank connections), Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), Twilio (SMS), Stripe (payment processing), and Anthropic (receipt text extraction). Each provider processes data on our behalf under its own terms. We also share information when required by law or to prepare tax filings with our accountant.
Data is stored on encrypted infrastructure with access limited to authorized personnel. Bank credentials are never stored by us; Plaid holds those. We retain financial records for as long as tax law requires, generally seven years.
